This is a documentary about “planned obsolescence” and the effort to make money on products designed to fail.
I’ve made the observation that society has changed, not just in it’s interest in sustainability, but in it’s ability to continue to buy products designed to last only a little while. It’s increasingly a feudal society where the thought is the job makers, the wealth producers, are just the rich and powerful. They become that way because they work so hard and therefore deserve the benefits society gives them. In such an economy, corporations might enjoy the ability to make products fail after some short time, but they will benefit less and less from that policy. People do not have the income or resources to continue to replace products that have failed. This practice will only create an increasingly impoverished society. It will shrink the overall economy.
